If you encounter an issue using Symbiosis WebApp, please check the most common problems and solutions below.
You may get The amount is too low... or The amount is too high..., while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain swap:
or
Cause: There are limits on swap size. And the amount of your swap is outside of the limits.
Solution: The swap amount should be between 10 and 5,000,000 in USD equivalent.
You may get Network Error, while using Symbiosis WebApp:
Cause: This type of error occurs when Symbiosis WebApp cannot get a timely response from the blockchains to calculate the swap.
Solution: In most cases, this error is sporadic and if you reload the page or try to perform the swap later, the problem disappears.
If the issue persists then:
Try to repeat the swap with and without VPN usage.
If it's possible, please try to use another Internet provider (for example, mobile Internet).
You may get: Amount xxx is less than fee yyy, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain swap:
Cause:
When you perform a cross-chain swap, you pay transaction fees on all blockchains the swap passes through: on the first chain you pay the transaction fee by yourself on other blockchains the transaction fees are deducted from the amount of your swap. So if the amount of your swap does not cover the transaction fees, the swap will not be carried out.
When there is a high volume of transactions being processed on a blockchain network, the demand for block space increases. Miners or validators prioritize transactions with higher fees, leading to increased transaction costs during periods of network congestion.
Solution:
Check the transaction fees. If there are higher than usually, consider to perform your swap later.
Increase your swap amount to cover the transaction fees.
Avoid blockchains with high transactional cost (for example, Ethereum).
If you are interested in learning more about how transaction fees are calculated and processed, please refer to Gas Fees for Cross-chain Operations via Symbiosis.
You may get: Slippage too low, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain operation:
Cause: Slippage (or slippage tolerance) is a term used to describe the potential price difference that can occur when exchanging one token for another. If the specified slippage tolerance is too low, it means that the user's requirements for the price difference are very strict, and a cross-chain swap that meets the specified criteria is not possible.
Solution:
Adjust the slippage tolerance to a higher value to enable the execution of the cross-chain swap (we do not recommend to have this value higher than 3%).
Reduce the swap amount.
You may get: No swaps for this networks’ pair, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain operation.
Cause: This type of error occurs when Symbiosis WebApp cannot get a timely response from the blockchains to calculate the swap.
Solution: In most cases, this error is sporadic and if you reload the page or try to perform the swap later, the problem disappears. If the problem persists, try to use VPN.
You may get: No swaps for this tokens’ pair, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain swap.
Cause: One or both of selected tokens are not traded on widely used DEXes.
Solution:
Consider swapping more common tokens.
If you know a DEX where you can exchange your rare token, then use that DEX for an on-chain swap to obtain more common tokens and then use Symbiosis for a cross-chain swap.
You may get: Swaps from this chain has reached the limit, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain operation:
Cause: Limits are set for all chains to prevent security issues. So cross-chain swaps in this direction has reached the limit for this direction.
Solution:
Swap for tokens on another blockchain.
Try again later.
You may get a mysterious message: Swap will be reverted, while using Symbiosis WebApp to perform a cross-chain swap:
Cause: There are no liquidity pools with enough token supply to exchange selected tokens.
Solution: Reduce the amount of selling assets or exchange them for more widely used tokens.
If you press Swap button and no transaction is popped out in your wallet, please open the console in your browser and check the details of the issue.
Check the status of your cross-chain operation in Symbiosis Explorer by using the hash of the transaction in question or your wallet address.
If the status Pending, the cross-chain operation is in progress, check later.
If the status Stuck, revert your cross-chain operation. Please refer to this user guide: Stuck Transactions
The status is Success but I cannot find my tokens.
Check the amount of tokens that should be delivered. Sometimes expectations do not match reality due to high transaction fees.
Important. When you select a pair of tokens to exchange, you will get actual information about transaction fees. Please consider this information before signing a transaction: you sign what you see.
If the above information did not help you resolve the issue, please contact support. For faster resolution, please include
Type of operation: bridging, exchange, liquidity withdrawal, etc.,
Which tokens and what chains were involved,
Transaction hash or link to the transaction in an appropriate block explorer,
Wallet address,
Explanation of what went wrong.
Having these details, you are welcome to contact our live support on Discord.
When you select a pair of tokens to exchange, you will get actual information about transaction fees. Please consider this information before signing a transaction. For example, there is a cross-chain swap of 100 USDC tokens from the BNB chain for USDC tokens on Ethereum:
If you still have questions, please contact our live support on Discord. Please send them the screenshot of of the details in console. It should look like this:
For example, there is a cross-chain swap of 100 USDC tokens from the BNB chain for USDC tokens on Ethereum: — The number of tokens displayed as 'to receive' already includes the cross-chain fees for the operation. Please note that the actual amount of received tokens may differ slightly from this displayed number, but it will remain within the range set by the slippage tolerance value. For instance, if 1000 tokens are displayed as 'to receive' and the slippage tolerance value is set at 3%, then the actual amount of received tokens could range between 970 and 1000 tokens.
